Otemoyan Dance Contest
(1) Dance practice with a local instructor is held beforehand.
(2) All participants wear the red Happi jacket and pink T-shirt: Water
sprinkling and dancing together on the day.
Consortium Mizuakari – lantern festival
Student volunteers participate in the Mizuakari Lantern Festival which won
the grand prix of the 16th Hometown Event Award (the Minister of Internal
Affairs and Communications commendation award).
Location: Hanabata Park – Around Sakura-cho
Content: Participants join 10 days of volunteer works to make lanterns
and interact with students of member campuses and participants of
other organizations. We set the lanterns and light them up on the day.

Downtown Clean-up Activity & Joint Parade for School Festivals
Student Planning Committee of the Consortium of Universities in Kumamoto
conducts the environment activity and about 300 students of the member
campuses promote their school festivals by parading through the town
