Try and enjoy the “Noh” performance at the workshop

 

 

 

Noh is a traditional Japanese theater art, the oldest major theater art still being performed today. In 2008 it was designated an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO. Starting in 2001, the Kumamoto UNESCO group has held a Noh workshop to help deepen understanding of traditional Japanese culture and foster an appreciation of Noh through letting participants experience Noh firsthand.

We have participated in Otemoyan Dance 2017!

We have participated in Otemoyan Dance in Hinokuni Matsuri 2017.  A international student from Republic of Indonesia made a speech in front of TV camera as a representative of the Consortium Team.  We were very happy to see everyone was having a good time dancing along the main street in Kumamoto.  Total number of participants is 79 people including 53 International Students!  We are hoping to see you all again wearing this red Happi in Hinokuni Matsuri 2018!  Thank you!

 

  

Report on Lake Ezuko Clean Up Activity on July 15th.


Despite the severely hot weather, 170 students had participated this activity on July 15th.
The participants were actively removing aquatic plants with their waist in the water.  The lake Ezuko was covered with young participants wearing our original pink T-shirts.  We would like to express our sincere gratitude for your cooperation.

There will be the Lake Ezuko Cleanup Activity organized by the Consortium of Universities in Kumamoto.

We would welcome as many International & Japanese students volunteers as possible.

 

Date  : Saturday, July 8th, 2017

Meeting time and place / 9:45 in front of Suizenji Ezuko Park Office     *Click here for Google map

Please come wearing  easy-to-work clothes and shoes which you can get dirty in and bring spare clothes, drinks and other necessary tools for cleaning.

           *The activity includes work in the lake.

           *We will provide Original Pink T-shirts and cotton gloves to all participants.

           *Postponed until the 15th in case of heavy rain.

[JCI Kumamoto] 2nd Multicultural Exchange Festival will be held on Sunday, April 3rd.

 

The Junior Chamber International Kumamoto will hold the 2nd Multicultural Exchange Festival in Hanabata Square on Sunday, April 3rd.

 

The Consortium Otemoyan dance team members will be on the stage and give a great performance.

Another interesting event will be there about strange or different kind of things in Japan for international students. International & Japanese students from the Consortium of universities in Kumamoto are going to talk over that on the stage.

You can also grab a bite of testy world cuisine there. Have fun!

[Kumamoto Corporation Society] Light-up Concert on Saturday, November 7th

 

A Light-up concert sponsored by Kumamoto Corporation Society will be held on Saturday November 7th at the Kumamoto Prefectural  Office promenade.  You can enjoy the beautiful view of lines of gingko trees lit up from 18:00 to 21:00 until November 30th.  On the 7th, you can enjoy the music also.
